"I was born 5,000 years before my time."
The Gifted One is a failed TV pilot about a highly evolved human (Peter Kowanko) who was born in the '60s and allows himself to be studied by scientists in 1989. As a child in the '70s, he demonstrated his extraordinary gifts by healing ailing pets, zapping bullies, and hitting baseballs into orbit. In the '80s, he eventually aims to track down his birth mother with the aid of an affable motel owner played by one of my favorite character actors, Gregg Henry.
I found this somewhat boring and forgettable, but if it had succeeded as a series in the late '80s and early '90s, it may have been of interest since it reminded me of a TV show I followed religiously during that time, My Secret Identity.
