  Guess this is the equivalent of Vice for me this year. Didn’t hate it. Not perfect, structurally a mess, but I was into it. It feels like it tackles the subject in every angle possible, which obviously makes for a mess, which it is, but I personally think it pulled it off. While I’d say the scenes with Ansel definitely feel relatively empty, the scenes with young Theo completely make up for it. They feel full of heart. Roger’s cinematography is obviously the highlight.

  critics are usually really great writers and uhm... they have to kinda choose a side... and they decided that pointing out everything that was wrong with the film would be the best way to write their reviews, their articles. they're all great articles too, all the bad reviews, really well written. uhm... but *pause* there is a lot of good in the film too... and the film DOES work. and people who see it, enjoy it, and are moved by it. uhm... the most important person it moved for me was my mother, and she's not moved by all my films. but she really liked this one, so, that made me really like it too. *soft smile* so, uh... it's still in theaters this weekend... take your mom.

  “ha! harry potter”

  this is some of the worst film editing i have ever seen in a movie this mainstream, and the plot was absolutely incoherent (as was the dialogue). i was trying to buy what it was selling, but everything feels off. to all you fans of the book... i am so sorry they did you this wrong. the plus side is we finally have something to double feature with the book of henry. please go see hustlers

  I think I experienced some kind of time-dilation anomaly because after finishing this allegedly 2 1/2 hour film I discovered that many years had passed here on Earth, my children were now grown adults miserable from my abandonment of them, etc, just like right out of fuckin INTERSTELLAR.
