This was such a perfect movie to watch on a day like today, where the goal is to be cozy and stay inside from the cold and eat stew. It's made very well, and has a surprisingly deep roster that all commit to their roles no matter the size. The story feels like what it was, which is one of those sweet books people read to feel kind of nostalgic? but also re-freshed and upset about WWII, but not too upset or horrified, because my goodness. That's all to say: made well, acted nicely, predictable but in a good way, and ultimately heart-warming but not treacly.
