The worst part about this movie is the title.
The movie and story itself is really sweet, and I loved the mystery aspect of the subplot. Most films that deal with WWII and post-WWII are always so dark and down (and rightfully so), but the way Guernsey handles it is still really respectful but the overall tone is more lighthearted.
The ensemble is really fantastic, but my biased self was more interested in the gay editor than anything else. Lily James is a great lead, and she brings a lot of heart and passion to her pretty simplistic protagonist. The rest of the book club is well explored, and everyone really does a good job in making the world…
