For example, I cannot stand when people pronounce the word “nuclear” as “nook-yoo-lur”—although on the scale of human wrongdoing it’s a pretty minor offense, it sends me into a rage-induced search for the nearest blunt instrument. john carpenter's Rambo. not much happening under the surface (maybe a case to be made for how it reflects the title character?) but man are those surfaces just way too stylish and fun to ignore. neon snyth halloween dance finale just slaps. this is now a dan stevens thirst account.
Wow. What a pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting this. I'm very impressed. The soundtrack is fantastic and there are some seriously great shots. I really dug this film. Actually, I loved this movie.
As a child of the eighties I am genetically primed to love the everloving crap out of this film.

This reminded me of a gazillion trips to the video store where I rented movies I wasn't supposed to watch at the tender age of 12. Looking like a 6' yeti helped a lot in just renting whatever I wanted.
Wingard absolutely nails the eighties vibe without it becoming overbearing. This can only mean that he takes this stuff seriously and is passionate about going back to that era where there were these simple, effective genre movies that were as entertaining as they were bloody violent.

It wasn't a bad little film as long as everything remained a mystery! In fact I was quite taken with it! Once things came to a head however and the mystery started unraveling the film started hitting all the wrong notes finally revealing itself for what it was.. a way to kill time when you have nothing else better to do!
The scene involving the arms purchase and those thereafter provided overwhelming evidence that someone screwed the proverbial pooch and with great enthusiasm mind you! I was NOT AMUSED to say the very least because they ruined a perfectly good film! The sickeningly clichéd ending only served to incriminate them even further!
