  look i know melissa mccarthy is typecast and she gets a lot of shit from pathetic men that have nothing better to do but i thought she was genuinely great here and certainly the standout. anyway i really liked this, i just can’t not like a paul feig film

  the bit where sandra bullock stacks it as she's half limping/half throwing her entire body out of a car & deadpans "dickfucker" as she's going down while at the same time melissa mccarthy has run into a hospital and is inflamed by apparently any sounds whatsoever aside from her own kind of warped bellow so she just fuckign RIPS a ringing phone out from the receptionist's desk & yanks it along behind her so hard that it knocks over several things including a lamp which shatters on the ground meanwhile sandra bullock is still stuck behind her bc she's completely failed to get the second motion sensor door open bc she's still lying on the FLOOR bc she's so injured so now she's just completely trapped in some kind of electronically controlled glass prison & all she can do is flop about like a dying fish ... lasts no more than ten seconds and now I think about it is also actually completely indescribable

  Uptight FBI agent Sarah Asburn (Sandra Bullock) is forced to team up with loud-mouthed Boston cop Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy) in order to break up a drug ring, in Paul Feig’s action comedy co-starring Demián Bichir, Marlon Wayans, Michael Rapaport and Jane Curtin.

  Although here are some funny moments, I found the film quite lacklustre, never really taking off despite a promising build up. A lot of it seems to have been improvised, and as a result there are lots of scenes that don’t go anywhere and end up falling flat, the looseness ultimately becoming a detriment to the humour.
