  Gut-wrenching, relentless, and all-too-swift, the stirring conclusion to the quasi-fictional story of the noble Lord Uhtred chronicled in the five-season run of the hit Neflix series The Last Kingdom, culminating with the feature film, Seven Kings Must Die, is both fitting and satisfying, yet I would be lying if I didn't say it felt rushed and more worthy of an additional season, rather than the sub-two hour treatment we are left with, but in the words of Uhtred himself, "all regret is worthless..."

  The events in each episode of The Last Kingdom series are incredibly comprehensive yet concise due to the length of each episode. The events that are intended to be explained in Seven Kings Must Die, despite the film being approximately two hours long, seem to be rushed. Each scene is crucial to the plot since it depicts a variety of significant events that happen simultaneously.   Absolutely not.

  This series peaked in season 3 for me with David Dawson’s arc as Alfred the Great (masterful stuff). Each subsequent season grew weaker and weaker, grasping at unfulfilling narrative threads on its way down the drain and ultimately became a chore for me to get through. Now we’ve been blessed with this, Seven Kings Must Die, a feature-length muddled mess of a film that serves to tie up Uhtred’s story but manages to fail at every turn to justify its existence. A few halfway-decent action sequences toward the back end and seeing some familiar faces can't save this from feeling absolutely pointless.

  
  Also, Uhtred is supposed to be about 80 years old here, yet Alexander Dreymon still looks like he's in his late 30s. Get out of here with this lazy shit...arseling.
