T/F 2018 #9 Closing night at The Missouri Theatre
I admire the way the film lives in its ambigiouties about its characters and about the art. I was never completely floored by anything except for that one surprise appearance by Hitler.
Not sure all of the individual stories really interweave into a complete meta narrative like the director intended (he cited Altman’s Nashville in the intro) but there’s still plenty to think about here, including my own attitudes towards this stuff.
The auction makes for a startling beginning.
