  The mortal guardian (Kari Wuhrer) of a self-writing tome concluding with the Antichrist's identity is targeted by an archangel (Tony Todd) determined to obtain it at any cost.

  Despite being a little more Prophecy than the previous sequel, this simultaneously lensed outing is the chaff of the Walken-less pair. Callbacks include an indentured servant (Jason Scott Lee) doing the angel's dirty work who can't escape even upon death, henchmen tracking by blood scent, and "monkey" used as a human descriptor. Pinhead's ghost lingers from Uprising with "Welcome to Oblivion!" echoing the same utterance in Hellraiser: Bloodline (1996). At least a bow is placed on Wuhrer's character and Todd saunters around in constant relish (wish he was dawning Candyman's hook instead). Watched via Dimension's DVD.

  The fifth and final Prophecy film was shot simultaneously with Uprising on location in Romania. Largely unrelated to the initial trilogy, writer / director Joel Soisson helmed both, so shared elements are handled well, and their is a sense of closure for the series.

  Picking up where Uprising left off, Kari Wuhrer is in possession of a holy book, pages of which may point to the antichrist - which draws the attention of a seraphim (Tony Todd). Rather than act against her, Todd employs a quasi-undead assassin (Jason Scott Lee) to act in his violent interests. Wuhrer continues to see a fiery figure - Jason London as Eric Stoltz - while most assistance seems to come from the sinister John…

  Jason Scott Lee and Tony Todd are hired at a second attempt to revive this franchise, but instead the attempt really helped put the last nail in the coffin that entry #4 made for Walken's original trilogy. Lee spends more time leaking cranial fluid at a bar then anywhere else, and very little is shown of his martial arts prowess. With the two new leads which are typically actors I half-way enjoy I really wanted to like this one, but it fails completely in almost everything from dramatic effect to the action sequences to even having understandable motivations for the characters or a cohesive plot. Worst of the franchise in I think many opinions, which is saying something after the 4th entry.

  Letzter Teil der Engelfetzerei.

  Bewegt sich auf dem Niveau des Vorgängers und bringt auch gleich 2 Darsteller von dort zurück.

  Die Story schließt stellenweise direkt an den Vorgänger an. Noch immer ist man auf der Suche nach dem Buch, welches sich selber fertig schreibt.

  Immerhin hat man beim Cast aufgestockt. Tony Todd und warum auch immer Jason Scott Lee ergänzen den Cast. Lee lässt aber bis auf sein Schauspiel alles stecken.

  Drehort ist immer noch Rumänien. Die Action ist jetzt auch auf Sparflamme und so richtig Spannend wird es leider nie.

  Leider ein etwas trauriger Abschluss nach Teil 3 Ende zu machen, wäre die bessere Entscheidung gewesen. Vielleicht wäre ein Remake in ferner Zukunft eine Idee.

  I freaking knew better than to watch this movie. But nooooo, I watched all the others, so I just had to finish the series or it's going to bug me.

  I couldn't remember a damn thing about the 4th one... And I just finished this one and I still don't even remember what I watched. The 4th one and this one are just extremely boring.

  Reminder to self: Just watch the 1st 3 if you're thinking about watching these again.

  A great premise has Jason Scott Lee as an undead assassin who has to protect the survivor of the first one and he knows a lot about the angels ("Cover your smell! There's a hierarchy of angels and they're only the drones) is dropped after the first act. Bummer. The rest of the film is a lengthy set-up for a sequel about the anti-christ that never arrived.

  It's not hard to tell that this came out just after Lost started, because in place of a plot it just has info dumps every 20 minutes that I guess would have been possibly shocking if I hadn't already checked out entirely. A good chunk of the movie's opening if in an unsubtitled foreign language, and I'm not sure if that was intentional or if Miramax cheaped out on the blu-ray. People then run around doing random things for random reasons. We're back to the war among Heaven's angels that was the focal point of the first three films, but with so much at stake one side is impossible silent. Tony Todd isn't bad, but it's a performance he could…

  Not the best note to end the series on, but at least it ended. If you made it through the first four movies, this one won’t ruin anything.

  A Seraph hires an assassin to get Allison’s book, find the Antichrist, stop Armageddon & God's judgment & ban humans from Heaven.

  The ending's kinda cool & has an Omen-prequel vibe. It was filmed with Uprising & released 3 months apart so the continuity's nice.

  When I saw John Light was also in this I was hoping for a good finish to the franchise, but he's hardly in it and the rest was bad.
