A charming, simple, whimsical little film, I landed on this purely by accident, gave it a gander and kinda fell in love.
I'm a sucker for films that take their pleasure from playing with notions about Shakespeare and his works, and there are so many out there, from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead to Porkys 2 The Next day. (Seriously, check out the meta narrative about indecency!)
The synopsis is straightforward, but the subtexts are interesting, and as a playwright of no real renown myself it's an interesting take on the notion of fallible creativity. I've seen some of my work horrendously butchered by egotistical directors desperate to force visions on it; but I've also seen it fall flat due…
