In my attempt to make David Lynch sick by thinking mean thoughts about him landed me in the hospital due to a fairly damaging seizure. I was in the hospital for 3 days only thinking a happy thoughts about me and stealing any sort of medical equipment I could find and I have about two bags full of medical equipment now. Tonight I am back home and I will hook up all of the hospital tools and start thinking negative thoughts about David Lynch again. The 3 days should have rested me and tonight I will use these heartbeat monitors and toilet things to have extreme negative energy.
This was so sweet. I adored it. Yes, it’s cheesy romance fodder much like the Nicholas Sparks films, but it’s got a lot of charm and heart to it. The whole new-age, ask the universe and the universe will provide, mumbo-jumbo isn't really even a big part of the movie. I’ve actually read the book The Secret, it’s not something that I adhere to or believe but a lot of people do, and they find strength from it, so whatever works ya know.
The movie is good. It’s been a while since we’ve had a nice romantic film come along, I always enjoy this kinda thing.
Josh Lucas and Katie Holmes were great, I wish Katie Holmes finally got the…
Why, Katie, why?!?! First Scientology. Now the thoroughly discredited The Secret. What’s next? Selling cosmetics on social media for a multi-level marketing scheme?
Nice Guy garbage man Josh Lucas negs sad sack Katie Holmes. Based on the pernicious self-help philosophy that insists that everything wrong with your life is your fault. You know: feel-good romance!

Is it predictable? Is it cheesy? Did it pass the time? Did it ultimately end up being an enjoyable family movie night? The answer to all these questions is yes. So in conclusion, it was decent in the moment and really well-intentioned despite how abysmal the script, pacing, and editing was. The cinematography was actually pretty good though. Yeah that’s pretty much it.
Favorite Scene: The Fakest slap ever delivered by Katie Holmes
as someone with manifesting powers that i am unable to control this was an essential watch.
on a related note the movie opens with a shot of katie holmes’ hand down a fish’s throat.
A movie that's hard to fault with performances to match. Possibly a hint of a 'Jesus' production behind it but apart from the awful end credits sequence The Secret is a really nice movie if you are in the mood for that sort of thing. Katie Holmes is as lovely as always and Josh Lucas does his bit very well. Gets a thumbs up from me.
1. Story - It must tell a good story, show the beauty of the human soul or the beauty of the human experience within its storyline or character development. 0/2
2. Acting - The acting has to be believable, realistic to the role, be different from other roles played and be of a high standard. 0/2
3. Aesthetic - The cinematography, set, dialogue, costumes, animation, special effects or musical score have to be something really beautiful, different or special. 0/2
4. Impact - It must completely captivate me, touch me on a deep level, be thought-provoking, stay with me afterwards, make me want to watch it again or recommend it to others. 0/2
5. Emotion - It must provoke strong emotion such as upset, laughter, happiness, fear, anger, etc. 0/2
A rotten movie. The core is stagment, the centre has become something to dread something to nuke from orbit, only way to be sure.
I was reluctant because of what this is based on, but kinda pleasantly surprised, since through most of the movie the "law of attraction"-message is very subtle and doesn't play a big part. Very comforting and feel good movie. It went full Hallmark right at the end, but I still enjoyed it. I mean ... a pony, for crying out loud!
Also - in the beginning I was thinking: oh my God, Josh Lucas looks SO much like Kevin Costner, when are they gonna play brothers? And then I remembered that he already plays a younger Costner in "Yellowstone", hahahahhh.
But still - let's have a movie where Lucas and Costner are brothers. :-D
I had no idea when I watched it that this was meant to be a sequel, or that it had any mystical implications, because it really is just an empty, Hallmark-style film about a love triangle. The cast is good, even the child actors are more than adequate, but the movie has nothing original to offer.
at first I thought "woa, this is way too optimistic for me" but then... I kinda liked it, so yeah, I liked it.
first of all... the book "the secret" always rubbed me the wrong way like f*ck off; just sounds like a bunch of hooey.... It's the intention behind the words that made it sound eerie and just, off...
