The "Ruler Trilogy"
Hi everybody, here is the third part of Aleksandr Sokurov’s “Ruler Trilogy”, previously he showed us the private lives of Eva Braun and Adolf Hitler with “Moloch” and brought Lenin's later isolation to the screen with “Taurus”. "The Sun" shows the Japanese imperial ruler Hirohito in the first days after the war and his surrender negotiations with the USA. In our opinion, the film is not quite as strong as its two predecessors, but Issei Ogata's acting performance is in no way inferior to Leonid Mozgovoy's performances.
"The Sun" "shines" above all with its gloomy atmosphere, the devastating destruction of a whole nation…
