  Pretty bad, but watchable enough in that "it's late at night and I'll watch anything that features neon colors and mid 90s lounge music" kinda way. (Seriously I would've totally stopped at this if i was flipping channels late at night and landed on this) This is a stage play turned movie that's kinda like a (slightly) more manic version of the 1987 movie "Working Girls" (but not nearly as well written as that one was--not even close!) as it's about these three high class escorts/prostitutes who work out of a by referral only nightclub called "The Downbeat." We got Julie Delpy (!!!), Pamela Gidley, and Georgina Cates with Daniel Baldwin as their manager who screens all their clients for…

  One of those bizarre little films that certain actors would probably prefer to erase from their filmography while others are probably proud to have done it. A trio of sex workers live largely comical lives punctuated by blips of horrifying moments of fear and danger. Each has a different mode of coping, from drugs to religion, and an endless cavalcade of lecherous and terrible men cycle through and make their lives hell. Adapted from a stage play, it’s a farce that lacks the authenticity of true trash despite Mink Stole’s involvement. Some fun outfits, though!

  I recently decided that if Mink Stole is in a movie it's probably something that I'm Into. I put this to The Test by watching The Treat : a true unclassifiable weirdie that I knew absolutely nothing about except that Mink Stole was in it. I was pleasantly surprised !!!! There are some truly strange and jarring editing choices that I LOVED, and there are fun costumes and scenes and a lot of nice moments where the femmes just get to femme. That's what I'm talking about ! Also Mink Stole is in two scenes and she looks SO AWESOME !
