Not bad for a SF disaster TV flick. Though I wish I'd known it was a 3-parter, 270 mins, before starting 😆. Big fan of the cast with Lou Diamond Phillips, Catherine Bell, Sam Neill, Eric Stoltz.
It vibes mostly as a mystery about what is causing the Bermuda Triangle incidents, which in the film are increasing in frequency. A bit of adventure mixed in with them seeking out events and info. A fair bit of SF going on with the events as well.
Main negative is that the runtime is padded too much. This would have been fine at 180 minutes. The CGI is also laughable, but it was 2005 TV. At one point they poorly CGI'd a whiskey glass dropping on the ground and shattering. I'm really not sure why they wouldn't have gone practical effects there, but it made me laugh.
For the SF nerds out there, like me, it is def worth queueing up 👍.
