YES! YES! YES!
If I could describe This Is the End in one word: A BLAST! This was probably the most fun I've ever had in a movie theater.
The all-star cast, the script, and the chaos was just all amazing! Everyone in this movie is so likable. These guys aren't even playing characters, they were being themselves! The chemistry is just outstanding. This Is the End is like a big inside joke, and we are all a part of it laughing our asses off with the cast.
Just look at this cast. I mean how could you not love a movie with: James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Craig Robinson, and Danny McBride. Are you serious!? These…
MIVHAEL CERA'S ONLY CONDITION BEFORE AGREEING TO PLAY AN ASSHOLE IN THIS FILM WAS THAT HE HAD TO WEAR A COLORFUL WINDBREAKER AND HONESTLY THAT IS THE MOST MUCHAEL CERA THING EVER I TRULY WOULD DIE FOR THAT SCRAWNY WHITE BOY
Oh My God! I now seriously feel like wanting to put on my Daniel Bryan “Respect the Beard” T-shirt, get myself pumped up, scruff up my beard with pride, raise my hands towards the Heaven with my fingers straight up and go on a parade shouting
YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!
Good Heavens YES! This is the ultimate. This is like my special food. This is the End is the one film that I have been specifically waiting for all this while and finally I watched it. Now I feel like having experienced the Stoner Comedy Nirvana. Holy Yes. I am so happy that I am bordering on being called…
"THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!"
"Oh, does it? Does it compel me?"
"THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!"
"Does it Jay?"
"THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!"
"Is the power of Christ compelling me? Is that what's happening?"
"THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!"
"Guess what? It's not that compelling."
where is jonah hill's oscar for this tbh
Fun is such an infectious thing. With perhaps the exception of Franco I don't care much for most of the cast involved. They've had their moments, but usually they only seem to do their thing and keep repeating that. In This is the End they do the exact same thing, but they do it while taking the piss out of each other and, most notably, themselves and their lifestyle.
That automatically imbues this film with an anarchic energy and humour that, despite its bouts of crass and lowbrow comedy, remains hilarious and entertaining because all involved clearly had an obscene amount of fun making this.
It's Rogen and Golberg's script that makes this ridiculous premise work. They play it straight,…
When released my friends and I became obsessed with this film. Six years have past and either I've matured, I smoke less, or I'm sick of the Rogan-shtick. Maybe all three. Michael Cera still cracks me up, but the rest of the film honestly drags a tiny bit. It is enjoyable, but I feel my Blu-ray is going to sit on the shelf another six years before I come back to it.
While there’s some pretty terrible CGI, Rogen Franco and Craig Robinson are pretty great and I was thoroughly entertained. Not memorable, but still a fun movie.
I would watch it again- me before watching it 3 times
I would watch it again- me after watching it 3 times
This movie is very smart and clever and has a lot of interesting things to say about fame, religion and male bonding. I just didn’t find as funny as I did years ago. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve seen it a few times now or if constant improvisation in comedies has been done so much over the years or maybe my sense of humour has changed. I’m curious how I’ll feel about it if I watch it again in a few years.
