“In time, we all find out we’re not in control. We never were, we never will be. But we are not without power.“
If One More Time With Feeling is death, then This Much I Know to Be True is rebirth.
Nick Cave’s music is extremely personal to me, so the only way I can accurately describe how I felt while watching this very intimate performance of his is as nothing short of a spiritual experience.
I don’t think there’s any lyricist in the world who manages to portray the human experience as well as he does, and if you somehow manage to listen to Hand of God or White Elephant without being moved to tears then you’re a stronger person than me.
Perhaps Nick Cave’s art resonates the most with those who have higher sensibilities. But like all lovers and sad people, I am a poet.
