This is so not how a thriller is done. This is not how it feels, breathes or even stings like. This is not a slow burn, but is a painfully dull and meandering attempt which can't even capitalize upon a fantastic central performance by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.
There are no doubts on the sincerity, honesty and maturity of Te3n, it erupts brilliant flames in bits and pieces but ultimately, fizzles terribly rather than shining bright.
The worst thing about this film is that Vidya Balan and Nawazuddin look highly disinterested in their respective role, and they actually performed 'bad'. What adds to their agony is that their character talks foolish while them being supposedly smart police officers. "Montage" (the film from which Te3n is inspired or copied If I dare say) was taut and engrossing from the first frame, never giving the room to breath even when the film has flaws. Te3n manages to fail on being a tense mystery thriller, which eventually makes the loopholes in the story more glaring and noticeable.
Ribu Dasgupta's Te3n is not only entirely predictable but its also the most dull and meandering mystery film of the year. Whoever wrote the dialogues for the film must be one boring turd in real life. What a pathetic excuse for a suspense thriller. What a waste!

A middling kidnapping investigation drama following a grandfather who's granddaughter was kidnapped and killed 8 years ago who still visits the police station daily to follow the now fallow investigation, a female police inspector who begins investigating a seemingly identical kidnapping, and the former police officer turned priest who investigated the original kidnapping and whom she recruits to help with the new case. The movie does have a nice bit of a twist and the actors are all good and engaging.
Te3n is a Hindi thriller starring Amitabh Bachchan as the grandfather of a young girl who was kidnapped and killed 8 years ago. He can’t let the unsolved case go, and visits the police station every day for an update. Vidya Balan is the police detective who tries to gently get him to move on.
awazuddin Siddiqui was the police officer investigating the case 8 years ago, and botched it. He has since become a priest, and Amitabh (John) also torments him regularly about the cold case.
Amitabh neglects his disabled wife, the bills and regular life in his obsession to find justice for his granddaughter. He uncovers what he believes is new evidence in the case, and gets Martin…
When eight-year-old Angela (Aarnaa Sharma) was kidnapped and killed eight years ago, time stopped for her grandfather, John Biswas (Amitabh Bachchan). Not in a literal sense, of course, as evidenced by his increasingly stooped posture and shuffling gait. John’s wife, Nancy (Padmavathi Rao), uses a wheelchair that she didn’t need back when little Angela lived with them.
Figuratively, though, nothing has changed for John. Every day, he stops by the police station to ask if they have new leads in the case. Every day, the new police chief Sarita (Vidya Balan) tells him, “No,” with a mixture of patience and pity.

“Excellent suspense thriller there is hardly any noticeable con about Te3n, very well written even better performed by three capable actors.”
Most of the times when a movie is a remake of any previous movie, it's hard for me to watch it since it's underwhelming, however, sometimes a remake is provided with different direction or the new spin on the same story you knew of. Teen or Three or Te3n, is official remake of Japanese film called Montage, Teen is about a grandfather, John Biswas (Amitabh Bachchan) who is hell-bent on uncovering the kidnapping and murder of his granddaughter Angela, a closed case that took place eight years ago, still holding his own personal investigation and gather evidence slowly. To…
remake of a mostly derided korean thriller (montage) that substitutes a kind of pervading melancholy and drifting observational glance for thriller dynamics, an approach that is fascinating for awhile and then falters badly once the borrowed, busy plot dynamics come crashing through (the directors last project was a tv miniseries, and I wonder if this mix of pacing and event wouldn't work better in that duration). nawaz and vidya bala are good but become too swept up in plot mechanics for their personas to find room to work (which is more a reminder of how high a bar they've set for their own careers than anything); this is definitely one for the amitabh bachchan auteurists, a film where the tone and speed of his performance seems to have dictated the rhythms of the film as a whole.
Not much of a slow burn, mostly just slow. The trailer looked great but the film didn't really live up to it.
The movie picks up well, but loses out somewhere in middle.
Could have been great but went on to become average .
Amitabh is delight to watch. Nawaz and vidhya have been wasted
من كثر ما اتفرج افلام مثل هالنوع صرت ما انبهر من النهاية لانها كانت واضحه لي ، مجملا فيلم حليو
Oh god this was such a well executed thriller movie!! I would have never guessed the ending.
Watching Amitabh bachchan and Nawazuddin together is a feast for audience, that too in a well organized crime drama like this. 💯
It took some time to sink in, but worth the wait.
Mala no es y engancha en un momento.
Llena de vicios bollywoodenses y malas actuaciones pero tiene ciertas virtudes de guión y algo de dirección que están bien
consider it a five star from me just because its better than every other Bollywood shit out there.
But then I have to rate it as an individual movie too, hence 3.5
AB, brilliant...
NS & VB meh......
One good thing the movie portrays is how at last justice overpowers revenge . And that what John Biswas always wanted was justice and not blood spil for blood spil
I don't understand how the name makes sense, anyway the plot for the movie was great and was its greatest strength (quite a feat for one featuring Amitabh Bachan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya Balanc). It lagged about here and there yet kept me somewhat engrossed in the story
