Willem Dafoe and puppies it was an automatic yes from me! That final moment made my cry it’s so beautiful. I won’t spoil it but what Willem said just got to me 🥺😭
A throw-away film about a musher that we've all seen before (Iron Will, etc.), but this time it's on Disney+ and stars Willem Dafoe and Julianne Nicholson? A guaranteed tear-jerker.

I can't stress this enough but canine films really are my weakness. Togo offers a well-executed true canine story that tugged my heart strings and embraced me with its sweetness. There were some great moments here and there, and some were intense at times. Watching this film is like slowly sipping a delicious hot chocolate on a cold snowy afternoon.

This was an absolutely wonderful surprise. I expected barely anything from this movie, yet ended up getting so much more than anticipated. It all starts with how incredible these dogs, especially from a training standpoint. It’s rare when stunt-work from something that isn’t human makes the impact that it does on a story like this, but the intense moments come (mostly) from their efforts. Down to the expressions on their faces when they’re in peril; these huskies are freaking incredible in this film. Our main one, in Togo, is so sweet, as is his relationship with Dafoe’s character. * Yes, the score is an emotional decision. For you objective aficionados out there, this is a well-crafted movie and a great true story. My objective score is 4.5. Not that far from the full score. But of course, objectivity can suck it.
* Willem Dafoe was great. That doesn't need to be mentioned, does it? It's not news.

Balto got the statue, but the real hero was Togo!

A Disney+ gem.... Togo features some genuinely exciting and tense sequences. It is a heart warming tale that wonderfully portrays the ancient bond between humans and dogs in a gripping and emotional journey. Director and Cinematographer Ericson Core certainly knows how to stage a journey through the snow. The film also makes the wise move of casting Dafoe. Whether you are a dog lover or not, there is much to admire in this exciting and emotional real life drama.
Togo is the perfect film to watch with family.
It's always great when an unsung hero gets the recognition they deserve, and when that hero is a dog, it's all the more moving.
