I’m convinced this is one of the greatest of all the Japanese gore comedies. Why? First, it breaks all the taboos there are, in the process of making brutal fun of every peculiarity of Japanese school life and pop culture. Nothing is sacred, Valentine's Day chocolate, teen suicide, weird clubs, racial stereotypes, the Chinese, demented parents, and the Japanese mania for just about anything you can imagine. Do not watch this if you are easily offended.
''Kyuuketsuki!''
Still a masterpiece.
A John Hughes comedy with exploding heads.
Igor is a real one.
Super cute and delightfully crazy, a sort of over-the-top version of Romeo and Juliet set in an alternate monster world.
Gore-tastic in its own sweet way!
Whoever wins…… it's us! The viewer!! Mileage will 100% vary!!!!!
Not sensible in any form or shape, but, well… duh?
Simultaneously the best movie of all time while also being kind of the worst movie of all time. I’m really disappointed and conflicted because there are some all-time scenes in this movie. Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl is a highly stylized Japanese gore film that is ultimately sadly ruined by extremely blatant racism. It apparently attempts to parody a Japanese fashion trend called Ganguro, which I'm not too familiar with, but in the film it’s just essential blackface. I also personally really don’t care to see wrist cutting in any movie, and they have a literal wrist cutting contest in this one, sooooo yeah. I kind of recommend checking it out just because of some of the insanely cool scenes, but strong warning about the racism. :(
From the makers of TOKYO GORE POLICE comes this wildly over the top J-Splatter! The tagline states “Two classic monsters. One fucked up movie” and that is basically all I needed to hear 😅
is definitely in the “so bad it’s good” category! It starts with 5 minutes of absolute blood drenched chaos, then we get about 45 minutes of some ridiculous, risqué, and in some cases quite offensive high school comedy before a 30 minute final fucked up showdown for the ages
There’s a totally cracked performance from Kanji Tsuda, a hilarious cameo from Takashi Shimizu, and a constant stream of imaginative schlock and smut that overcomes its budgetary restrictions through wild creativity. It’s ridiculous beyond belief, but that’s…
If I told you what kind of stuff appears in this film, you would never believe me.

Mangaverfilmung in richtung Horrorkomödie.
"I want to bite... I want to drink blood"
Can't say I'm surprised about the content when seeing who the two directors involved are.
For over an hour you get a pretty consistent geyser of over exaggerated blood, smashed faces and scientific bodily mutation with a list of things happening you have to see to believe because I can't put the absurdity into words that will do it justice. Taking two classic/iconic monster tales and turning them into this violent, offensive and batshit love story isn't the route most people would go but then again Nishimura and Tomomatsu aren't even close to most people.
The final rigged together product puts it in the ranks of cheesy budget Japanese gore cinema…
