This film is the epitome of what a director must NOT do.
I'm not talking about the film as a whole. The average script, the talented actors (who give average performances), the outstanding visual effects and the atmosphere of the film are the reason why I rated this film 2/5 instead of 0.5/5.
That being said, the direction and editing are all over the place. The choice of shots are unlike anything I've seen so far. In a bad way. Director Pitof doesn't seem to understand the visual language. His direction and shot designs are a complete MESS. He abuses extreme close-ups, camera movement, wide angle lenses and, of course, visual effects.
