David Harbour kicking ass and wearing a man bun is the Christmas gift I never knew I needed.
Pre-sledgehammer the movie was a struggle.
Post-sledgehammer the movie was brutally fun.
Consensus: Always add more sledgehammers.
So, this is the best movie I’ve ever seen. It’s Citizen Candy Cane. It’s 200 proof Christmas Spirits. It sleighs all the competition. High octane, jolly old Saint Ridiculous. I loved it.

As an action film, this is standard stuff, even with 87North in the mix. It certainly doesn't rise to the level of a John Wick or even a Nobody. But as a seasonal gory comedy, Violent Night hit the spot. The dynamic between Santa Claus (brilliantly played by David Harbour) and Trudy is great. Perfectly sentimental for a blood soaked Christmas tale. All of the mayhem takes on a comic glee, and it reaches an apex with a hysterical Home Alone-inspired sequence. Enjoyable.
I am 1000% here for the big, bearded, manbunned, silver fox zaddy phase of David Harbour's career. TIME FOR SOME SEASON'S BEATINGS.
