Is it me, or is this film pretty bad?
It's highly emotional scenes about death, loss and the feeling of complete sadness felt flat.
None of these important scenes worked and some scenes involving the children in the after life were very cheesy.
With the death of Robin Williams in 2014, I could see the difficulty in watching this film objectively without the added emotional realism and I myself put off watching What Dreams May Come for this very reason but surprisingly I was able to put those thoughts aside because the film is very mediocre and the emotional scenes don't work at all.
What Dreams May Come hinges and focuses on the Robin Williams and Annabella Sciorra relationship so much, and it never feels authentic.
The visual style is compelling but that is the only thing this film has going for it, unfortunately.
