  The movie sets up a climax where he plays "Wonderwall" and then for some inexplicable reason it doesn't happen. If it did I'd give it an extra half star.

  Concept doesn’t translate to screen very well. The direction is distinct but the script is pretty lame, schmaltzy and expected. Performances are good and the sound editing was great at times, but I’m afraid this gets an avoid from me, mostly on the account of Ed Sheeran plummeting the movie. Danny is above this corny shit. And I love the beatles, but jesus christ it’s pretty boring to watch the beatles be jerked off for 2 hours in a boring romantic comedy. I approve of Lily James being the latest manic pixie dream girl though. Zoey Deschanel finally has some competition.

  does a movie have to be “good” ? is it not enough for lily james to look beautiful and to enjoy the concept of a world where jk rowling doesn’t tweet about dobby’s sex life ?

  Wish I could forget about this movie LOL etc and so forth!

  Seriously though, yes, I found this cloying and stupid, but more importantly I have a question. We see that not only did The Beatles cease to have existed but that therefore so did Oasis. Cute joke, I see what you did there. But later we find out that there's no such thing as cigarettes, which leads me to ask: was there no tobacco trade...ever? The socioeconomic side effects of this throwaway joke drove me to such incredible distraction that I pretty much could not pay attention to the rest of the movie.

  Out of all Beatles songs, I mean out of all of them, you choose to play Ed Sheeran's music all over your sex scene. Is this how you pay tribute and respect to the most influential band of all time? Yeah...I thought so.
