Alex Gibney explores the phenomenon of Stuxnet, a self-replicating computer virus discovered in 2010 by international IT experts. Evidently commissioned by the US and Israeli governments, this malware was designed to specifically sabotage Iran’s nuclear programme. However, the complex computer worm ended up not only infecting its intended target but also spreading uncontrollably.

Zero days? Isn't that the amount of time it takes Alex Gibney to make another documentary?
Fascinating subject but I don't think there's enough material for a two hour film.

A.V. Club review. Classic Gibney (i.e., almost wholly expository), but it unexpectedly features one of the year's best performances—so damn good that I guessed it was an actor almost immediately. Which sounds paradoxical, I realize, but "ecstatic truth" and so forth.
Just another story of how The US and US only makes political issues or simply a war worse than before by doing shit they’re not supposed to. Their huge ego and pride to have a major control of something, before it’s used against them. Well look at what happened in this. It’s really a fascinating story though, coming from a cyber security student myself. I’m glad so many NSA agents came annonymously to talk about this. This really felt like another Snowden story that I’m heavily obsessed with.
The problem many people seem to have with documentarian Alex Gibney is that he cranks out so many films in a short timeframe, he has a tendency to rely on expository talking heads to tell the story- which should make his documentaries feel certifiably uncinematic. Here, Gibney is grappling with a subject matter that multiple directors have failed to make cinematic: cyber warfare. From the mid nineties wave of hacking based movies that kicked off with Hackers to Michael Mann's recent flop Blackhat, cinema has always been behind the curve and utterly tone deaf when it comes to portraying cyber espionage onscreen.

interesting information, generic and monotonous execution. gibney represents a lot of the traits that annoy me in modern documentary filmmaking in that every doc he makes feels the same whether or not it's about scientology, steve jobs or iran. this feels like a wikipedia article

Look, Alex Gibney, it’s not you, it’s me. Your documentaries always bring interesting subjects to the table, which makes them watchable and I can’t fault you on that – but oh boy are they lacking style. I just have kind of a trouble with Gibney’s visual-less movies and unfortunately, Zero Days aren’t really an exception in his filmography. It’s fun to see Gibney himself for a minute and the animated computer-segments are kind of fun – but the endless cutting between generic talking heads that take up so much of his films are still here.
