Still processing this one. Ari Aster’s second film is impeccably directed and exceptionally well edited. All the performances are great, the production design is wonderful, and the sense of dread and disorientation is incredibly effective. Unfortunately this is way too long, pretty slow, and for some of its runtime aimless. I think this could’ve been this script was one draft away from a masterwork based on how good so many aspects of this film are. I liked it, this one will have me thinking for days. I’ll have a better idea of how much I liked it once I figure out what the hell I just saw.
