THERE WILL BE BLOOD (2007) -
"There Will Be Blood" is a almighty and simply imposing achievement, a movie that you bask in the glory of at times and others your stomach will churn at. Paul Thomas Anderson imbues this tale of tragedy with layers upon layers of sound, movement, character, shadow crafting something that is peak film form and film content. Not a word is uttered for the first however many engrossing minutes, and yet it begs the weight of narration and parable without any. This is the work of master at the peak of his powers, speaking of peak of his powers Day-Lewis is a freaking enigma here. But you guys all already knew all of this, I'm just playing catch up and loving doing so.
