So bad it's good. Well made indie DnD film.

Re-watched this for the first time since seeing it in IMAX. Watching the Space Silent version of the film does give it a whole new feel, like it feels more real and that makes it much more terrifying. This movie can be very visceral at times but also very somber, especially when the lead picks up a stray radio transmission from earth. Absolutely stunning movie and I look forward to the 4K UHD re-release later this year. The visual effects in this film are absolutely stunning and much deserving of a 4K remaster.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

This film is put together so amazingly well. The atmosphere and acting are superb and a lot of thought and detail were put into every scene. I also enjoyed that despite being a doppelganger movie, there were almso no composite shots used to show two of the same actor on screen at once. Just good doubles and quality shot/recerse-shot cuts.

I will say that the ending is a bit obvious (as they cleaely state early on that she was gone…

Entertaining enough. Brie Larson's acting, while indeed a little stiff with some of her line readings, wasn't as bad as most people make it sound. Also, the payoff with Nick Fury's eye injury falls flat to the point that it feels like an afterthought. The de-aging of Samuel L Jackson was indeed top notch to the pount where I set stop noticing it entirely after his fitst few scenes. Overall, fun film with great action scenes and special effects.
