And the award for best actor in a supporting role goes to...Nova Scotia Foghorn in The Lighthouse.
What an easy win it is to set your film in such an atmospheric setting. The foghorn vibrated the whole theatre, and the very soul of the sold out crowd was shook. I loved the sound design in this film so much, and it was a glorious experience hearing this movie in the theatre.
Apart from the sound design, the film also features two power house lead performance, flawless writing and direction, and so many satisfying moments that got big reactions out of our audience.
My expectations were high for this, and those expectations were surpassed. It's a complete mood piece that expertly walks a tonal tightrope. Anyone who was involved with the making of this film should be proud of what they accomplished here.
