    Joel and Ethan Coen’s masterpiece Fargo is an excellent example of visual storytelling. With the help of Roger Deakin’s brilliant cinematography, they have created a film that feels both grounded in reality but fantastical as well. Minnesota is shot like some strange land covered in snow, filled with overly polite people. The film opens with a car driving through a snowstorm, giving a real sense of place to start off this film.
