Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War ★★★★½

Quickie Review
Well, that was gut-punching. Granted, I know that what happens in this film is mainly temporary but it still hurts. An event 10 years in the making, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther and a majority of Wakanda, not to mention Spider-Man and Doctor Strange will join forces in the biggest battle of their lives: to fight the Mad Titan known as Thanos (Josh Brolin), who seeks the Infinity Stones to align them together in his powerful gauntlet and if he gets his hands on all 6 stones, the world at large as we know it will cease to exist. Usually with recent movies or the occasional classic, I have longform reviews and I was tempted to write one to express my feelings of “holy fuckery” that took place but considering that the film is so filled with twists, turns and surprises that dive into spoiler territory, I’ll save my feelings for another time when everyone has seen it. In spite of some very hilarious moments of levity, particularly everyone’s interactions with each other, this is still a very serious film and considering the stakes are extremely high, it has to be. Brace yourselves, true believers, because Avengers: Infinity War has truly changed the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it....forever. I know I said that in my Doctor Strange review 2 years ago but THIS is much different this time. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if I turned on my TV and “Agents of SHIELD” would feel the ramifications of this conclusion. Just see it.
