Peter Jackson has done something outstanding and innovative with this. The colorized footage comes alive in a way never seen or expected from footage filmed 100 years ago. I feel like I have a sense of what it felt like to see Dorothy walk out of her home and into the colorized Munchkin Land in 1939.
Impressive doc. If you can learn something new about a subject you know a bit about, then the documentary has done its job. And there is so much to be learned from this one that ranges from private life to behind the scenes snippets. Almost as impressive is the somewhat never ending list of big time directors and actors, some Spielberg has worked with and others that are just fans of the work, that show up throughout the runtime. If you’re at all a fan, watch it.
