Added to my favorite films of all time list (which for the moment exists only in my head). This was absolutely stunning, this film is a poem from beginning to end with farts and all included.
I don't know if it's the best coming of age film I've ever seen but it certainly belongs amongst them. It possesses a liveliness, vibrancy, and heart that's really eclipsed in films of the genre. Showing somewhat touchy, some would argue vulgar things in a tasteful yet honest way is an art.
I see Luisa becoming one of my favorite female characters. I fully subscribe to her “Life is like the surf, so give yourself away like the sea.” The sea as a metaphor for life is absolutely beautiful, and one that's nice to take both literally (by jumping in the sea or ocean) and figuratively.
I don't remember the exact date that I watched this except that it was either one or two days after I got back from my trip to Barcelona.
