Filmspotting’s review published on Letterboxd:
On this rewatch, less entranced by the craft and Carpenter's 'inhuman patience' (to borrow a phrase from Dr. Loomis), but far more impressed with it as a study of repression and perceptions shattered.
What's crucial isn't that Laurie survives because she's the only virgin; it's that she's the only virgin and STILL almost doesn't survive ... Despite all of the 'right' choices she makes, Michael Myers still goes after her.
Sacred Cow consideration on Filmspotting #702.
