Sicario

Sicario ★★★½

The Mexican cop and his kid stuff is shamelessly manipulative – Villeneuve going "full Inarritu" – but similar to his PRISONERS or (much better) ENEMY, this is a fractured psyche/identity crisis movie dressed up as a drug cartel/assassin thriller. And a good one, buoyed by Emily Blunt's vulnerability, Roger Deakins' intimate, never ostentatious cinematography and Benicio del Toro's anguished, hangdog face.
