Filmusicinemike’s review published on Letterboxd:
Todd Haynes directed Carol with emotion and love, not with an overly sexualized vision. Sadly, I can't find too many films like this in modern cinema. I've wanted to watch Blue is the Warmest Color, and although I know it will be meaningful, it's too heavy on the sex for me.
Carol however was exceedingly beautiful and the finalization of the story made me realized how blessed we are that films like this are being released. Also, mostly watched by mature audiences who appreciate every single frame and sound that this film had produced. I am not able to imagine someone leaving the room/theater without being overrun by a powerful feeling of love.
The two gorgeous lead actresses are a reason to watch this film alone, but this is a film to OWN. Something you will treasure once experienced.
