Adam Rolseth’s review published on Letterboxd :
“Do I make you sad?”
One of the purest, sweetest movies ever made. Bo’s direction is so precise & 100% spot on in its depiction of anxiety and pre-teen awkwardness that this will be an uncomfortable viewing for anyone who graduated middle school. The dude really knows how to make an audience empathize.
Even if it’s cliché by this point to say that Elsie gives a starmaking performance it just needs to be said. She is absolutely stunning as is the overall impact of the film. I cried, I laughed, I clapped and all other positive emotions this movie could elicit from me. See it ASAP.
