Jane Firehorse’s review published on Letterboxd:
this is a love story of the highest order. all i know is that i wanted so badly for wendy and lucy to be together!
lucy - whose name means light, and whose colour is repeatedly called "yellow-gold" - is the sun in wendy's darkness. i scanned those pens right along with her, hung those signs, made those calls.
so many boxes, box cars, box stores, fences, prisons and cages divide. so many long shots isolate. so many melancholy hums express what cannot be said.
"wendy and lucy" is quiet, unassuming, and profoundly deep; it will pierce your heart. because without connection, what is there? and yet sometimes letting go signifies the deepest connection of all.
