Alex Billington’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is not a good film. It's a wannabe Marie Antoinette, but without the talent or filmmaking prowess that makes Sofia Coppola's film unique. It's also a lot like Spencer, but set in Austria in the late 1800s, almost felt like a ripoff at times. Vicky Krieps is fine but there's no real character, there's no real sense of who she is or why she acts this way or what she stands for or anything. Random scenes that don't mean much are scattered through. Why did the dogs change into Dalmatians for one scene? What is the point of all the modernity? Why was this film even made? Nein, danke.
