What a rad little film. The vintage aesthetic of this doc is very cool. The whole film goes against the grain of what a typical sports history doc should be, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it's a bit annoying, sometimes it's mesmerizing. The training sequence musical interlude is one of my favorite parts, as is the ending. I wanted to see more footage of them playing, but they saved that all for later.
Most importantly - this was a LEGIT gold medal win. These ladies worked so damn hard and earned that victory. Makes me miss the days when the Olympics meant something really wonderful for the world.
