Just so incredibly beautiful, I love putting this movie on in the background. While I do like the whole movie narratively, it’s mostly about the eye candy for me, until the third act. That third act always pulls me in, I can never not devote my full attention to it.

One day I want to write an extensive analysis of this, but not today. Today I’ll just say that I love this movie, and I think it’s pretty good. The music hit me in a different way on this watch, synths make everything better and creepier. Needless to say the book is one of my favorites as well, and having it fresh in my mind made for a truly fresh rewatch (though every watch has felt fresh tbh).

Like an especially mediocre episode of The Venture Bro’s, wacky “heroes” battling bizarre bad guys. Pleasantly surprised at how funny this movie is, I very unexpectedly laughed out loud at several jokes. Peacemaker is the highlight for me, I think his character is best utilized and used the most distinctly. I’m not actually sure where Peacemaker comes from, but he’s clearly reminiscent of The Comedian from Watchmen, though Peacemaker’s ultranationalism is much more tongue-in-cheek, played for laughs (at least here).…
