Solid film about the housing collapse and the bad decisions a man was forced in to because of it to provide for his family. Andrew Garfield really loves these "based on true events" types of projects, and he's always good in them. He's really one of my favorite working actors presently.
Michael Shannon is the best at being the WORST.
Laura Dern is the best at being the BEST.
Andrew Garfield is the best of both worlds.

Andrew Garfields legacy in film and TV as a tortured religious believer is on full display here and I'm here for it. He's the only reason this based on a true story world War two film is better than average.

The Northman 2022
This movie kicks a lot of ass. Eggers apparently saw "The Green Knight" and said, "Hold My Mead bro." More than the great performances, the cinematography and epic, pulsating score really shine here. I hope both get some awards love. Finding out Eggers did not have final cut on this film (if true) makes me think that when he eventually releases his own epic 4 hour Kingdom of Heaven-esque cut of the film, it will be even better than this was.
