While this is obviously incredibly well done from a technical angle especially for the fifties, what really drives this one home for me is the writing. Every single scene is written so goddamn well, and the emotional significance and anger throughout this are just conveyed so well. Way beyond its time in terms of political commentary, and it's mind-boggling that this came out only 12 years after WWII ended. One of my favorite Kubrick films so far for sure.

I hate writing about epics, especially when they're as fantastic as this. So, all I'll say is that this is completely masterful in every way, consistently engaging across its three hour runtime, and easily my favorite Kubrick film from what I've seen so far. Just watch it if you haven't already; I promise it's worth it.
