Chadwin’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is the sixth Richard Linklater film I’ve seen (after The Before Trilogy, Boyhood, and Everybody Wants Some!!) and it’s also the first one I haven’t liked. I just really didn’t get the point of this. I was bored for nearly the entire runtime, and I just kept waiting for it to end.
I enjoy the aesthetic of the film, but nothing else really drew me in. It didn’t have the same love or meaning that I feel his other films have had. Those are the two forces that I think hold his films together, and without having any sense of those the whole narrative seems to crumble.
It’s clearly just not the movie for me, and I can understand why you may like it.
