This really grabbed me from the beginning, and for awhile I thought I was discovering a truly great movie. Eventually, I got my fill of Richard Crenna's performance, '50s moralizing about a woman's place and the unseemliness of ambition in the fairer sex, and the somewhat superfluous mob blackmail plot, and realized this is not a true classic of the golden age. Still, I enjoyed aspects of this film immensely, and it is well worth seeing, with a fine performance from Cleo Moore especially.
