The Seventh Fire ★★★½

A grim look at what the British colonisation of the American continent led to. Juggling between drinking and snorting drugs the film follows two Native American subjects. One a gang banger who spent half his life in prison, the other a wannabe OG who could follow in his footsteps.

Both reflect on their choices in life, the ones who led them where they are and the ones that will await them ahead.

Overall: bleak and hopeful simultaneously and well worth one's time (thanks to a short running time).
