the jokes are still great but i miss the marx brothers as sheer agents of chaos. the ending sequence is anarchic and fun as anything in the paramount films, but i don't care about kitty carlisle and not-zeppo getting together. and the songs with no jokes! no thanks. harpo's playing is beautiful in this one though.
the performances are all great and the existential horror/comedy is great but boy oh boy is this thing sexist. my initial reaction was "oh, it's a parody of men's anxieties about women" but then i was like "written and directed by men so probably not". i still really liked it though overall.
