  I want to puke watching this generic oh-so-relatable crowdpleaser. The fact that Cooper Raiff wrote himself as the nicest character in the world feels embarrassing. He shall learn a thing or two from Josh Thomas.

  What I enjoyed, for the most part, was the performances throughout the film. Everyone really put their heart into this, especially Ke Huy Quan. I admire his performance greatly, not only because he kicks all kinds of asses while delivering most of the film’s emotional payload, but also because he reminds me of Christopher Reeve’s portrayal of Superman—the way he removes his glasses, straightens up his posture, and changes his voice and expression whenever our Waymond switches to Alpha Waymond. His body language says it all.

  A taut and efficient thriller with neat sound design, ingenious camerawork, Hitchcockian score, and a very convincing performance from Zoë Kravitz. Soderbergh makes very good use of its brief runtime.
