    (500) Days of Summer

I don't know what to even say, the feelings this captured, and the characters, the dialogue, the cinematography, it's all done brilliantly! I can't wait to see this again, the contrast and visual difference in tone between earlier on in their relationship and later on was noticeable, and the way you're connected and invested to the characters makes you understand and feel for them, there's so much development given to us in creative ways, be it the expectations vs. reality scene. I thought this was fucking brilliant!

Terrible script, it's so inconsistent with the characters, Miles Logan is literally a terrible person, he doesn't grow by the end, he's still a fucking crook, fine (?) acting, under-utilised characters who are thrown aside for fucking trash spectacle that's shot terribly with no wide shots or perspective, mostly fine jokes with some great ones but a lot of them are trash.

Bad music, when Logan enters Mexico they start playing what the filmmakers thought to be Mexican music and…

Has great, charming performances from everyone, Domhnall Gleeson is amazing, Rachel McAdams is good, Bill Nighy is hilarious, he fitsh is character so well it's incredible! I think maybe the second act isn't great, I was so confused, does it show them get married after like a week of being together, it doesn't make much sense and hindered some enjoyment I would have gotten otherwise, so some bad pacing issues.

But the third act is great, I was enjoyable going…

An ode to life and living. I cannot describe how unbelievably real and poetic it felt, it felt like every-day; there are some bad things in your day, but there are some good things too that make you realise that you are always living in a day-dream, you can do anything. The film’s all about emotion, and your ‘purpose’ and it encapsulates it better than any film I’ve ever seen; the feel empty, yet inside you picture your life, your happiness, your not-so-happy moments, but you feel complete.

So, so lacklustre, terrible characters, terrible story, mostly terrible acting, apart from a pretty good performance from George Clooney, and it doesn't know what it wants to be. It switches movie 50 times, it literally exits Clooney's plot for 45m and doesn't go back until the ending, it's so messy and incoherent. Really bad music, bad dialogue. Bad directing most of the time, nothing special to it at all, the space scenes could've been fun or taken inspiration from 2001, but they're so boring and ugly, which is hard to do when you're having a scene in space.
