    Spring Awakening: Those You've Known

When I was about 17, I was totally into this guy I worked with at the movie theatre. We became best friends and hung out all the time for a couple years. At one point, he left to spend a semester in Germany. I decided to tell him how I felt about him in a letter (pre-Internet). He wrote back and told me when he got back, we should go out. We did date but he was busy with college…

    Radioactive Dreams

    Absolutely fucking dire.

I respect it but I didn't love it.

    Elizabeth Debicki is glorious.

  • Rush

Ever wanted to see Thor and Baron Zemo drive Formula One cars? Okay, but what it it is filmed in the most generic and, quite frankly, boring way possible? Well, it's all right here in Rush. I think it's gotta be pretty difficult to make Formula One races look unexciting. I mean, they're tearing around street tracks at high speeds. How then does Ron Howard make this feel so boring and slow? It's super generic in every way. I like…

It’s a Michael Bay movie in that it’s a masturbatory kaleidoscope of car crashes, shoddy editing, and corniness

That's all you really need to know.

    Tremendous. Go watch this immediately.

Didn't like it as much as I did the first one. Jim Carrey and Idris Elba were pretty great, though. Lots of eye candy going on with James Marsden and Shemar Moore. Not enough Marsden in this for me. Lots of jokes for adults. My kiddo loved it so that's really what it's all about.

  • [REC]

One of the best Horror films ever made. Definitely the best of the Found Footage genre.

  • Morbius

    Look, it's fine, okay.

Matt Smith and Jared Harris are good. Not a fan of Leto but, good lord, he's painfully beautiful. It's weird watching Leto and Smith working together. Their acting styles are so different. I would've been fine if Smith had been Morbius.

Yes, there are issues but still, it's fine.

  • Atonement

After watching this again today, for me, this is Wright's masterpiece. Crushing, gorgeous, so much pain and longing.

Honestly, I didn't love this Horno like I thought I would going in. The effects are great. The cast is good. I just wish I had seen what I thought the trailer promised. Really, that's on me but still...

Like Ben Wheatley, I'm always interested in what Ti West is doing and will absolutely watch whatever he puts out. I might not love everything they do but I'll definitely give their stuff a watch.

So, while I didn't cream my jeans over it like fellow viewers at last night's world premiere, I did think it was a solid 3 and might improve upon a rewatch.
