Will Walker’s review published on Letterboxd:
It sorta works as a kind of anti-comedy in a similar vein to Master of Disguise or Freddy Got Fingered, where the joke isn't so much "Melissa McCarthy is funny" as much as "Everyone hates Melissa McCarthy." And I kinda have to respect a comedy that's not afraid of being this crude, bizarre and idiotic. We haven't had one of these in quite some time.
The problems are that 1. It plays its half-assed dramatic beats far too straight and 2. The PG-13 rating holds the film back on its more offensive and low-brow moments.
