Landscape Suicide

Landscape Suicide ★★

Shoutout to @bloodmountain for the request.

Like the films of Abbas Kiarostami, the films of James Benning are mostly comprised of long takes. However, unlike Kiarostami, Benning uses a shitty camera to shoot them. In Landscape Suicide, the colors are dull and flat. It doesn't help that the actors and narrators in this sound uninterested. And to make matters worse, the film is around 80% filler. Most of the film is random b-roll that has nothing to do with the two stories presented in this.

Landscape Suicide is an ambitious docufiction, but it was a slog to go through, and somehow, I managed to do it.
